Massage therapy helps clients achieve optimal health by considering the whole body.

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints through hands-on manipulation of the body including the muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and joints for optimal health. Massage therapy helps clients achieve optimal health by considering the whole body and treating the source of your concern, rather than symptoms.

Physical health can be achieved, maintained or improved with massage therapy, and the physical effects of stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes can be prevented or relieved.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a regulated health profession in Ontario. Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) have completed a 2-3 year course at a recognized school of massage therapy, have passed provincial competency exams and must meet the standards of their college, the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).

With the completion of over 150 hours of clinical training before graduation, each graduate from RMT programs in Ontario are prepared to handle the needs of their clients. All registered RMTs must maintain their registration by participating in continued education and a Quality Assurance Program that assists them in the maintenance of high professional standards and quality care of clients.
